Early Childhood Connections 2026: Play. Connect. Thrive.

The opening session, “Understand and Support Behavior through Sensory Play,” will empower early childhood educators to recognize that all behavior is communication. You will gain a deeper understanding of how children process sensory information, what a sensory processing difference or disorder may feel like to a child, and sensory play activities to support each child’s diverse needs. You will leave feeling validated, empowered, and equipped with a clearer understanding of why children behave the way they do and how to support regulation through everyday routines, play, and connection. Early Childhood Connections 2026 will also feature workshop selections in the following Core of Knowledge areas: Child Development, Curriculum and Professionalism. Training sessions will be led by the Maryland Child Care Resource Network. There will also be a variety of child-related informational exhibits. Light breakfast and a boxed sandwich lunch are included in the registration fee.
