News from MFN

On Monday, MFN hosted its annual Day in Annapolis. Approximately 100 parents, infants, and toddlers from MFN’s Patty Center – Family Support Programs and Early Head Start Centers gathered to connect directly with lawmakers in the Miller Senate Conference Room West.

While the day is designed to thank legislators for their past efforts, parents also urged action on the ongoing crisis surrounding the Maryland Child Care Scholarship Program (CCSP), which has been “frozen” since May 1, 2025. The CCSP is an essential public good that provides children access to safe, regulated early learning environments while also allowing parents to work or pursue education. However, the current freeze has left many families in limbo and child care providers scrambling to make ends meet.
