Quality Child Care. Strong Families. Thriving Maryland.

As the statewide coordinator of the Maryland Child Care Resource Network, Maryland Family Network connects families, providers, and partners to ensure that every child in Maryland has the strong start they deserve.

Why Child Care Resource Centers Matter

A child’s first five years shape their life. That’s why Maryland Family Network coordinates the statewide Child Care Resource Network—so families can find trusted care, providers can grow their skills, and communities can thrive. Quality child care isn’t just good for children—it’s essential for Maryland’s workforce and future. Together, we make sure high-quality care is available, affordable, and sustainable in every corner of our state.

Our Role — Connecting the People Who Help Children Thrive

The Maryland Child Care Resource Network is made up of seven regional centers that support families and early childhood professionals statewide.

Support Providers

We deliver training, technical assistance, and business coaching to help early childhood professionals build high-quality programs where children can learn and grow.

Connect Families

We help parents find regulated, high-quality child care through the statewide LOCATE: Child Care referral service—connecting each family to the care that fits their needs.

Strengthen Systems

We bring together data, policy, and practice to improve access, affordability, and quality across Maryland’s entire child care system.

Market Your Child Care Program

MFN’s LOCATE: Child Care is a FREE service that directly links families with programs that fit their individual needs. It is the only state-sponsored, continuously updated search system that includes MSDE licensing info. To connect with as many families as you can, make sure you have a complete and detailed profile on LOCATE. The more information you provide, the easier families can find and choose your program.

Take a few moments each month to:

  • Review and update your program’s profile: Ensure all information is accurate and reflects what makes your program special.
  • Keep your vacancy information current: Let families know immediately if you have openings.

It's easy to stay up-to-date!

Training & E-Learning

E-Learning

MFN has a partnership with ProSolutions Training, a program of StraighterLine, to bring you Maryland State Department of Education approved self-paced training. The cost-effective individual workshops allow you to select specific topics of interest, while the bundles meet Maryland licensing requirements for staff and CDA training requirements.
