Sometimes children use behaviors that are challenging for their caregivers but are a way for the child to communicate needs. When providers and caregivers want support in understanding the child’s behavior and providing supports which guide them utilizing developmentally appropriate practices, the local Child Care Resource Center can help.
The Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health (IECMH) Consultation Project provides intensive consulting services to support programs and families with children’s social, emotional and other mental health challenges in children birth to 5 years old. These services are provided collaboratively with the local CCRC, who can support the provider in accessing these services as needed.
