MFN Announces Big Changes to Public Policy Team
Maryland Family Network (MFN) announced the appointment of Beth Morrow as its Director of Public Policy. Morrow, who joined MFN in 2018 as Associate Director of Public Policy, has been instrumental in developing legislative strategy and engaging stakeholders. During her time with the organization, MFN has fought to sustain critical investments in child care, early education, and family supports; created blueprints for expanding high-quality services to young children, their families, and child care providers; and successfully championed paid family and medical leave legislation. Morrow also served as Public Policy Coordinator for MFN’s legacy organization, Maryland Committee for Children, from 2001 – 2006.
In her new role, Morrow will lead the team responsible for shaping and executing MFN’s public policy initiatives. She will also facilitate the organization’s Public Policy committee, ensuring effective collaborations. Morrow holds an undergraduate degree in sociology from Loyola University Maryland.
“Beth’s exceptional understanding of child and family policy and her unwavering dedication to our mission and goals make her ideal for this position,” said Executive Director Laura Weeldreyer. “She will play a vital role in building relationships with government officials and stakeholders, conducting research and analysis, and leading our advocacy efforts. We have every reason to believe that Beth will lead us to even greater growth and success, and we couldn’t be more thrilled.”
Meanwhile, MFN’s long-tenured former Director of Public Policy, Clinton Macsherry, will remain with the organization as Chief Strategy Officer, playing a pivotal role in developing and executing strategic policy initiatives for the organization.
